Chapter 18: Buying Back Your Time
The Buy-Back Tally
List the five tasks you most want off your plate, price the hours each eats using your true hourly rate, and name what you will do with the first ten reclaimed hours.
Your tally
First, put a price on an hour of your time - until you do, you will keep treating it as free. The book's rough internal rate: your share of the annual profit, plus any gross salary you pay yourself, divided by the hours you actually work.
The five tasks you most want off your plate
Beside each, the hours it eats every week. Be conservative with every figure - the honest number is startling enough.
One more line
The single thing you will do with the first ten hours you reclaim. Make it something only you can do - or something that has nothing whatsoever to do with work.
